Child Care Services

Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) - Offers early intervention to children from birth to three years old who have, or are at risk for, developmental delays. This is achieved through the development and implementation of a comprehensive, coordinated, community-based service delivery system which is family-focused and culturally appropriate. Services are available in Yuma only.

Early Intervention for Infants & Toddlers - Provides home-based support for infants, toddlers and their families who are at risk for developmental delays and meet the eligibility criteria set by the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and the Arizona Early Interventionn Program (AzEIP). In Tucson only.

Arizona Infant/Toddler Institute - Infant/Toddler caregivers receive free, comprehensive training with on-site technical assistance. Training is based on a nationally recognized curriculum. Participants receive credit hours and financial incentive for their attendance. Available state wide. Brochure in English | Brochure in Spanish

Chaparral After-School Program - This school and com`munity partnership is working to provide sustainable after-school programming at Chaparral Middle School. After school programs are being provided to school youth while a Site Council works to identify assets and resources in the community.

Child & Adult Care Food Program - Family child care providers are reimbursed for nutritious meals served to children in their care. Nutrition training is provided annually. For information call 1-800-941-3088. In Douglas, Nogales, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Yuma.

Child Care Home Recruitment - Family child care providers receive training, technical assistance and professional development. This program recruits and trains people to become certified child care providers in their own homes for the Arizona Department of Economic Security. In Nogales, Safford, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Yuma. Child Care Resource & Referral - Parents call 325-5778 or l-800-308-9000 for referrals to child care centers, preschools and homes, including school age programs. Referrals are also available at www.azchildcare.org. CCR&R helps to educate parents in the selection of appropriate child care. Training for child care providers is also available. Family To Family - A free statewide training program which enhances the skills of family child care providers in the areas of child development, nutrition, and the business of family child care. Training also includes a self-study manual and CPR/First Aid Certification. In Douglas, Nogales, Phoenix, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Yuma.

First Focus on Kids - This program partners with 50 child care centers throughout Tucson to help them improve quality by becoming accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Early Education Specialists provide ongoing support to identify areas of need and provide necessary training and assistance for improvement. Collaborating agencies provide additional support and services. In Tucson only.

Happy Hours - School-age children participate in after school child care at ten TUSD elementary schools. A summer program is offered at one school site. Before-school and extended programs are available at selected locations. All sites provide care to children with special needs. In Tucson only.

Provider Education Program - Workshops and on-site technical assistance are available to child care providers to meet the needs and challenges of their jobs. In Douglas, Nogales, Safford, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Yuma. Download Provider Education Program brochure.
