Dr. Dulce Maria Ruelas is a passionate advocate for health equity and social justice, with a 20-year commitment to empowering the Latino community. Her expertise spans diverse fields, including breastfeeding, maternal-child health, early childhood education, higher learning, and the complex interplay between immigration policy and public health outcomes. Guided by her motto, “Learn, Unlearn, or Relearn,” Dr. Ruelas continually strives to expand her knowledge and adapt to evolving challenges. As a Master Certified Health Education Specialist and Breastfeeding Counselor, she is dedicated to promoting preventive health and health education. She actively collaborates with communities to build capacity and foster partnerships that benefit children and families. Her academic contributions extend to her role as a faculty member in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Master of Public Health programs at Grand Canyon University.
