If your child is struggling to talk, walk, or play with other children their age, it’s time to seek out help. At Child & Family Resources, we provide an array of free programs geared toward helping children develop at the appropriate rate. Our early intervention measures can dramatically improve your child’s growth, and these services are available to children up to five years old living across Maricopa county. The program is offered at no cost, and there are no income or insurance requirements.

The Basics of Parents as Teachers

The Parents as Teachers Program includes an early intervention component that aims to assist in young children’s development through age five. A member of our team will meet with you over the course of your child’s first five years in order to identify the best approaches to caring for your child and helping them develop properly. Our program includes all of the following:

  • Strategies for developing communication, motor skills, and social development
  • Parent coaching
  • Fun developmental activities
  • Missing developmental milestones
  • Lack of ability to crawl by 10 months
  • Lack of ability to walk by 18 months
  • Trouble speaking or understanding at least 50 words by 2 years
  • Stiffness and tight muscles
  • Losing skills they once had

This program is for parents who are expecting or parenting a child age birth to 4 years of age and who live in the service areas of Maricopa and Pinal Counties. The program is provided at no cost to families. There are no income or insurance requirements to apply.

We understand the importance of accessibility when it comes to visiting with a parenting coach. The team at Child & Family Resources is glad to offer virtual visits to ensure you get the counsel you need. We can meet via FaceTime or phone, and you’ll still reap all the benefits of the early intervention program. Our structured curriculum will give you simple strategies to boost your child’s growth, as well as identify community resources.
